Cebu

The Palazzo Pensionne is a nice little place in Cebu. The rooms are comfortable and and clean and the simple Filipino dishes in the restaurant are good, though it does take a long time for them to come. You can phone down an order from your room and they’ll give you a ring when it is ready. It’s located in a quiet residential neighborhood more-or-less in between the heart of downtown (Colon Street) and the Ayala Mall. There isn’t much of anything within walking distance, but most everything is just a $1.50 cab ride away. About $15/night for a single. They responded to my emails promptly, when I showed up at about 7:00 a.m. they managed to get me into a room after only a short wait, and on my second trip when there were no economy rooms available they upgraded me for free. If you’re looking for a small, quiet place I highly recommend them.
